SAYSI Fact Sheet #1     |      The Real Winners     |      SAYSI Fact Sheet #2

We need to teach our kids good sportsmanship and adults need to practice it in their everyday lives. Parents are the real hands-on role models.

Sportsmanship is not defined as simply helping an opponent up after you have knocked him down. It is a nice gesture and should be done whenever possible. Good sportsmanship encompasses much more than a gesture.

Actually, sportsmanship is a curriculum that teaches the rules of life while the youth are having fun playing a sport. Every aspect of good sportsmanship is relative to our lives, jobs and community relations.

Good sportsmanship teaches:

Respect for coaches
Respect for teammates
Respect for officials
Respect for opponents
Respect for the game
Learn the game
Your self-esteem grows as you learn
Play fair -- no cheating
Winning -- be a humble winner
Losing
How these teachings apply to life:

Respect for your superiors at work
Respect for your co-workers
Respect for the law
Respect for your competition
Respect for your job, neighbors and community
Study hard, know your career, work hard and learn on the job
Self-esteem builds confidence to be a leader
Cheaters are losers in life
Don't brag -- we aren't perfect, so keep learning
If you learn how to lose you learn how to gain from it.

Wouldn't you like to sponsor a program that promotes and teaches honesty, integrity, respect, character and leadership for our kids? God knows we need a good dose of all that in our society right now.

What's In It For Me?

It will show your interest as a subscriber in our community's future to help provide solid social learning skills for our youth through SAYSI. An investment in our youth and their future represents a good choice on your behalf. The public relations from your participation will most certainly become an asset for your entity.

The name of your entity will be associated with SAYSI for all the clinics and events we provide for the coaches, parents, officials and kids in our community.
